Savings calculator

An estimate for a plug-in system: yearly yield, what you save and when the system has paid for itself. Change any input; the result updates at once.

Illustration of a balcony solar system: panels on the balcony, a micro-inverter, an optional battery, home appliances and the grid meter. The lines show where the energy flows at the chosen hour.

Without storage 30–40 % is typical, with storage 60–80 %. ●

≈ 85 % estimated from a typical day●

Estimate based on typical yearly irradiation for the city, a system loss of 14 % and the mounting factor. Shade, weather and your consumption pattern change the result. Not a guarantee of yield. ●

How the picture is calculated

The yearly figures use the formula above with the share you set. The picture and the typical-day figures use an empirical hourly curve for each mounting and an average household load of 5 kWh per day. A typical day is the annual average day (yearly yield ÷ 365): a sunny summer day yields about 1.6 times as much, a winter day about one third. Surplus charges the battery first and then goes to the grid. ●
